1 Dynamic Range (DR)

Dynamic Range is the distance between the absolute quietest whisper and the loudest explosion in a track.
You may ask yourself why this is so important to me.
and thats a good question so ill try to explain it.
Imagine looking at a photograph where every single shadow has been artificially brightened and every highlight has been darkened so everything is exactly the same shade of gray. That’s what music with zero dynamic range sounds like it’s at its best boring and at its worst exhausting
In the audiophile world, we value high Dynamic Range because it lets the music breathe.
When a snare drum hits, it should actually startle you.
When a vocal drops to a hush, you should have to lean in to hear it.
It creates emotional tension it creates the shift in my mood it can brighten my day as much as it can darken it.
